We knew it was coming so it's no shock. This is a great scam Larry Brown has going. He signs big contracts and then pisses off management enough so they pay him to leave. Anybody who signs this guy to coach their team has to have rocks in their head. As far as Isiah goes, I say good. Let him put his money where his mouth is. He keeps telling us how talented the Knicks are and they should be winning more games.

Re: Brown officially out as Knicks coach Here's the official report from the AP. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slu...v=ap&type=lgns "Larry Brown was fired by the New York Knicks on Thursday and replaced as coach by president and general manager Isiah Thomas... In Brown's one season in New York, the Knicks stumbled to a 23-59 record -- second worst in the NBA and matching the most losses in club history." So now it's Isiah under the microscope. It's almost like Dolan's saying, "They're your players, now you win with them." I know this is likely a dumb question, but... anyone think just maybe Isiah will win with them?

Re: Brown officially out as Knicks coach the Knicks are a pitiful organization with horrible 'leadership,' The only good to come of this is the Knicks are so poor, they will have no denial how bad Isiah has done while in NY. My fear is that they were so bad last year, that they should win more games this year...Dolan will look at that as an improvement although the entire franchise is a joke. These are the darkest days in this franchise's history.

Re: Brown officially out as Knicks coach Is Isiah Thomas the light to help us get out of this dark tunnel, EmpireWF? Hopefully, this Knicks will use last year's record as motivation to do better next year. But then again, I don't want to speak of things that are simply impossible. Unless they acquire an athlete who does miraculously well, I don't see that many wins coming their way.

Re: Brown officially out as Knicks coach Great column. Trying to weisel his way out of forking over $40 million to Brown is petty. You fired the guy, now pay him. It should be interesting to see what happens on that front. I doubt that any clauses in Browns contract will prevent him from collecting a pretty penny. And don't think he won't take it to the courts (non-NBA that is) if Commish rules in favor of Dolan.

| Re: Brown officially out as Knicks coach Although the process is painfully slow, it will take Thomas having a terrible season, which is an absolute certainty with this roster, for him to finally be sent packing. He may be perhaps the most unqualified executive that has ever been allowed to take over a franchise. There is no "I" in team, but if you take the "I" from Isiah and add it to run the Knicks, you get ruin the Knicks. Only a huge negative backlash from the fans is going to get Dolan to change his ways.
