Don't get me started on this horrific situation. Had Isiah Thomas never made some of the dumbest trades since he's arrived, the Knicks could have been under the salary cap by the year 2007 or 2008. Now, we'll be lucky if we can spend some serious free agent money by 2020. I've heard reports now that Isiah has turned the corner and is on the same page with Larry Brown as far as personnel goes. The big story this week was Brown giving Thomas a list of players he'd like. The only untouchable on the Knicks roster should be Channing Frye. Everyone else is expendable. Thomas has looked into trading Marbury from what I've heard but there haven't been any serious takers because he makes too much money down the road. I expect atleast 2 "big" moves to occur towards the trade deadline. Don't know where they'll go but I'm expecting the face of this team to change...again. Hell, heard on the radio earlier today about Brown and Eddy Curry getting into an argument over his "defensive abilities." I hope Brown chewed him good though.

Knicks Ugh. What can you say about the Knicks. I hate the entire roster with the exception of Frye and Robinson. Now it looks like the Knicks are going to win the draft lottery and hand that pick over to the Bulls. How ironic. I mean, wouldn't it be fitting if the Bulls picked some high school kid who turns into a big superstar. Or they could pick Sheldon WIlliams who will probably be better than Eric Curry ever will - the player IT forked the pick to the Bulls for. I thought IT was going to trim the cap - make a play for a top flite superstar down the road. He didn't - he settled. He's no better than Scott "Frederic Weiss" Layden. Imagine, even though Artest is a headcase, wouldn't you have picked him over Weiss just based on talent? The least they could have gotten for Artest (he probably would have been happier in NY) would have been Peja. Now they have Jamal Crawford, Jalen Rose, and a whole bunch of crap. Did IT think that Larry Brown would come in and turn these sacks of crap into a contender? I mean, how bad does Larry Brown miss Detroit right now. Actually, they're doing better without him.

I agree that it is going to be hard for Brown to win with the current bunch of players, but he is a great coach; look at what he did with Detroit. He did not have a lot of great players in Detroit, just a great team that knew how to play together. Hopefully he can team up with Isiah and get what he needs for next season.

Knicks are hopeless It's a sad time to be a Knick fan. I don't understand why Thomas keeps trading for bad contracts, but then again he let the CBA go bankrupt. His only claim to fame since he retired from playing is drafting tracy Mcgrady. Besides that I think he's worthless and needs to be forced out. With one of the greatest coaches ever and two young budding superstars in Channing Frye and Eddy Curry, the Knicks have a decent nucleus. I'ts time for Thomas and Marbury to get out of New York

OK, I take back some of what I said about the Mavs in my other thread. After the way they took the Knicks apart last night, I understand better what's going on with both teams. It's a sad fact that the Mavs wouldn't have been able to dismantle the Knicks if they hadn't let Thomas dismantle them first, and now the Mavs are rivaling the Spurs for best in the West. Let's compare: ten losses in a row or 14 wins out of 5 games. The Mavs are suddeny looking pretty good.

Re: The Disaster which is the NY Knicks The most ironic thing about all of it is that the Knicks have a good core of young players. Frye and Robinson, as people have mentioned, but also David Lee, who's active, tall and has good hands. I never saw Ariza, but apparently he's decent as well. that's 4 good players they could have built around. Instead they just keep taking on dead weight ballhogs like Rose, Curry and Stevie Migraine. Here's another ironic thing: on paper these guys could contend for a title. In fact, i'll bet they get to .500 on the season. but at what cost? THe Bulls get thier first-rounder next year and the option to swap picks in 2008.

Re: The Disaster which is the NY Knicks What does everyone think about the reports that Isiah and Larry are safe at least through the end of the season. Should one or both of them get the axe, and if so, who would be your ideal candidates to replace them and try to get all of this sorted out?
