Although it's far from over, the Knicks coaching search appears more and more to be a one horse race. Former Knick and St. Johns alum Mark Jackson has been given the vote of confidence by former Knicks head coach Jeff Van Gundy.

It was believed by some that JVG could be a candidate to return to the Garden but it appears he has taken himself out of the hunt and thrown his support (if it means anything) behind Jackson.
Jackson has never had a coaching job in basketball but was known to be a coach on the floor during his long career as a point guard.
