Cool Isiah to coach???

Dolan is thinking of paying Larry Brown 44 million to retire and make Isiah Thomas coach. I say why not? Let Isiah coach all of this "talent" he has brought in here. P.S. Can you imagine being able to just piss away 44 million dollars like that?

Hey, maybe that was Brown's thinking...going in he thought...I need a retirement plan...and Didn't Thomas once own the CBA or something?...Can we give him a "Goodwill Ambassador" post in the NBA and get him out of Knicks all together?

Re: Isiah to coach???

I just heard this over the radio...my first reaction was WTF? They take another step into the sh!thole that is the New York Knicks Organizational demise. Dolan is such a horrible owner, he's considering tossing $40 Million in the trash can so Isiah Thomas can coach...how about dishing out the bucks to buy out Marbury's contract? Huh, how about get that awful player off the team. Oh yeah forgot, he's a Isiah Thomas acquisition...he'll attempt to make the move look like it will pay off, 3 years later.

I have no ill will towards Larry Brown besides the fact that he couldn't come down with a set line-up at any point during the season. The majority of players tuned him out and didn't want to play for the man...but then again, the only player on the team who has a Ring is Malik Rose. Everyone else is either a young rookie/soph or a overpriced vet who is just out for themselves. Hell, if I was a NBA coach I'd try and milk the Knicks for as much coin as I possibly can since they seem to be throwing it away as of late.

I believe that from the day Isiah Thomas became the GM, his plan was to eventually become the head coach. Now, if "his" players won't play for him, the only step for the guy is OUT THE DAMN DOOR.

This organization is a joke. A terrible awful blinding joke.

Re: Isiah to coach???

Thomas brought the CBA to bankruptcy and now he must have the same plan for the Knicks. The NBA needs a strong team in New York, and with this dope running things, it won't happen anytime soon. I have said it before, the only thing that will get Dolan's attention is 8,000 empty seats in the Garden every night.

Re: Isiah to coach???

Isiah would be the Coach and GM. That in it itself spells trouble for anyone, let alone Isiah.

Re: Isiah to coach???

I can't understand why the Knicks always think the coaches are responsible for the Knicks' horrible records. Why don't they ever point the finger at the players? No, not that finger.

You can't say it any better than that Empire. The Knicks organziation is even worse than the Detroit Lions. Here's another good article today. It sounds like it's definitely happening:

Isiah deserves this. You brought 'em here, you coach 'em. It's karmic retribution.

Re: Isiah to coach???

It may be the only way to get rid of this clown. Once they really stink with him at the helm, leading the misfits he has put together, there will be no where to go for him except out the door. Apparnetly this is what it will take, rather than just firing him now. It reminds me of the Popeye cartoon where he destroyed his home trying to get rid of a fly! Just open the door and kick him in the rear.

Re: Isiah to coach???

I can see though, how the Knicks played so awful this year...they could realistically play terrible...but still have a better record. Then Isiah would spin that in his favor and buy himself more time.

This whole situation just stinks.

Re: Isiah to coach???

I agree, EmpireWF.

The Knicks will literally try every possible solution to get them out of this mess. Lets hope that one of their solution work (within the next decade or so).

I think the Charlotte Bobcats are looking better than the Knicks these days. What do you think?

Re: Isiah to coach???

Charlotte is not much better. They are stuck now with Okafur, who i can guarantee you is going to mis many more games than he plays with his injuries. They have a couple of players in Felton and Wallace, but they are not really guys to build a franchise around. Sean May should have stayed in school, who knows if he will develop?

What's up with Okafur?...Has he taken the Larry Johnson road?

Re: Isiah to coach???

From the sound of everything that's played out...

-Larry Brown won't accept a buy out of $25 million. He won't quit. The only way he's leaving is if he's fired...which will cost Dolan $40 Million.
-Dolan is pissed at Brown for the way the season turned out and the way he acted in the media. Dolan is loyal to a fault and his right hand guys in MSG, Steve Mills and Isiah Thomas have tight job security.
-Brown has attempted to get a meeting with Dolan since the season ended but he hasn't obliged.
-The decision to fire Brown will be strictly Dolan's decision and one he'll likely make soon.

However, I'd say there's still a 10% chance Dolan cools on Brown and he stays. Then again, with everything being so public I don't think there's much of a chance that Brown can stay put.
