Cool Re: Isiah to coach???

Brown is still collecting his Detroit Salary also. THis is a nice little scam he has going for himself. Sign a muli-year deal. Start complaining right away and piss off the organization, get fired and then just cash the residual checks. It's sort of like a Pyramid Scheme.

Cool Re: Isiah to coach???

According to Mike Francessa of the Mike and the Mad Dog Show, he was told by a source (Who I'm assuming is Larry Brown since he has a very good relationship with him), that here's what went down yesterday between Brown and Isiah:

1) They had a meeting that "didn't go well."
2) Brown requested a meeting with Dolan.
3) Isiah denied the request and said the meeting would take place when Dolan is good and ready and that Brown has to wait until Dolan summons him.

To be continued....

Re: Isiah to coach???

Dolan is pissed with LB and it doesn't spell good for the franchise. Again, Dolan has "his guys" around him (Mills and Thomas) and they're the problems. Larry Brown should be given the chance to turn the ship around minus the headache of Zeke. I don't see that happening.

Re: Isiah to coach???

I think Larry Brown is being blamed for everything under the sun. He did nothing wrong at all, and I think the public is turning their backs against him for no reason. I think they are using him to cover up the problems that surround their organization.

Empire WF, what do you think does spell good for the franchise?

Well, you've got to be one hell of an optimistic person to see the good through all the bad. However, I will say that Channing Frye and Nate Robinson will be fun to watch develop. Hopefully Frye can come back to 100% after last seasons injury. And if Jamal Crawford can ever learn to not be a ballhog and throw it up every time, he could be an above average PG...then again I doubt you can tweak with his instincts...he is a good scorer though.

Cool Re: Isiah to coach???

I thought Larry Brown did a horrible job this year. He basically went through the motions. The team quit on him. So if they keep him around he better step it up.

Re: Isiah to coach???

I think Larry Brown did a pretty good job this year considering all the problems and circumstances he had to deal with it. It is very hard to see eye-to-eye with Stephon Marbury and I think a lot of New York fans don't realize that.

Cool Re: Isiah to coach???

If there was any doubt on Larry Brown's future it sounds like it was confirmed yesterday: This was is in today's Newsday:

As a public relations official tugged at Thomas to leave, the Knicks' president was reminded that he said Brown would be back as coach next season and was asked if he still feels that way.

Talk about one picture being worth 1,000 words. Thomas smiled and shrugged with hands outstretched and palms up in the classic "What can I say?" gesture. After a pause, he said: "See you guys later."

It was a wordless death sentence for Brown. And Thomas will be seeing plenty of the beat writers in the future because he's the expected replacement for Brown on the bench.
