Roy Jones Jr. Works Out With the Knicks

Some may say that the Knicks have shown little fight so far this season, but maybe working out with a professional boxer can change all that. Roy Jones Jr. is preparing for a fight at Madison Square Garden in January, and since he once played in the USBL, why not change up that workout routine and give it a go with the New York Knicks?
Jones did exactly that on Friday, and had some advice for a team that has been through more than their fair share of turmoil in this young season.
"Look at me. My last three years was really, after I beat John Ruiz, it just went downhill for a minute," Jones said Friday. "That happens. But the true professionals come back through that. If you're a true professional you can battle back through that. That's when you find out what they're made of."
I'm not sure if there are any true professionals left on the Knicks at the moment, but that's beside the point. Isiah Thomas had the line of the day desribing Jones' skills on the basketball court.
"Shot was a little suspect, but nobody got close enough to him. I don't think anybody wanted to challenge him for fear that he may punch him."
Isn't that the main problem with the Knicks right now, that they're almost resigned to the fact that they're going to lose and won't even bother with putting up a fight? It was a funny line from Isiah, but as the team's head coach, I'm not sure I would be so eager to point out this embarrassing fact.

If he would knock out Isiah, it would be worth bringing him in.

Cool Re: Roy Jones Jr. Works Out With the Knicks

I'd almost rather see him in a Knicks uniform than what they have now.

Maybe they can suit him up to be an enforcer. He has 6 fouls to give. Teams would worry about driving on him.
