Cool Kenyon a Knick?

It gets crazier and crazier. You just can't make this stuff up.
From Barbara Barker - Newsday Basketball columnist.
Let's see. Kenyon Martin has a bum left knee and a gigantic contract and is seen as a malcontent who can't get along with coach George Karl.

Is it any surprise that Isiah Thomas is interested in him?

It doesn't matter how much the Knicks need an inside presence. They need to just say no when Denver comes calling this offseason.

Let's quickly review what's happened to Martin this season: A fan who heckled Martin accused him of sending a friend into the stands to threaten him, which Martin denied. Then the NBA fined him $15,000 for cursing at fans after a game. Now he's been suspended for at least two games after getting into it with Karl during halftime of Game 2 of their playoff series against the Clippers.

Hey, what's not to like? This is a guy who fits in perfectly with guys like Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis.

In all seriousness, as talented as Martin has been in the past, he works best on a team with a veteran leader, a guy like Kidd. Adding him to Team Knucklehead would be disastrous.

Of course, if Denver were interested in Marbury instead of a bunch of expiring contracts, that might be a different story.

Re: Kenyon a Knick?

I heard they are (seriously) interested in Chris webber as well... What is wrong with this team? They need to cease and desist when it comes to making trades and free agent acquisitions, eat a couple more losing seasons and then they will have the cap room (and probably the draft position) for a fresh start.

Re: Kenyon a Knick?

Why don't they get the star players when they are good and healthy?

Webber has knee problems. And Kenyon Martin just isn't as good as he was on NJ.

I'm still waiting for Dikembe Mutumbo and Antonio McDyess to show up big in NY.

PS:I don't know how to spell McDyess offhand.

Easy answer: ISIAH THOMAS and their clown of an owner - JAMES DOLAN.

Re: Kenyon a Knick?

They should make a movie about the Knicks. The title should be....Was He Drunk?

That really explains the transactions of Isiah Thomas.

Re: Kenyon a Knick?

Kenyon Martin is a pint of what he was due to injuries. Add to the fact he's a max player (NBA is messed up!), perhaps someone should throw some toxic materials on him so Isiah can get the hint to STAY AWAY!

I have some faith though that Larry Brown has more power than he did last year so they'll go out and get some of his kind of players.

Re: Kenyon a Knick?

Does he really have a voice in any of the team's transactions?

Re: Kenyon a Knick?

Can someone tell a new fan to the NBA what Steve Francis' status/future is what the Knicks?

Hi, Trashed, and welcome to GoTeamsGo!

I'm not a big-time follower of the Knicks, but from what I understand, he's pretty much going to stay put. Even if they wanted to deal or dump him, financially its pretty much impossible.

Re: Kenyon a Knick?

The Knicks were the S in suck this year, but apparently that's not enough for Isiah so they are trying to get the U as well.

Re: Kenyon a Knick?

Wouldn't this move be the NBA equivalent of The Lions getting another receiver? How many more head cases can one team compile?
