The accusations against Isiah Thomas and the Knicks/MSG officials has gone to trial this week. Jury selections began Monday or Tuesday I think. You can bet a lot of ugly details will come out (including Stephon Marbury) and their alleged actions.

Whether they're true or false, well, that's why they're in court.

Anucha Browne Sanders got specific about some of the things Isiah Thomas is accused of saying in court on Monday. Sanders told a jury of five women and three men that Thomas would blow up any time she tried to recruit him or his players for marketing campaigns. "B****, I'm here to win basketball games," Browne Sanders quoted Thomas as saying. In another discussion about season ticket holders, she claimed Thomas said, "B****, I don't give a (expletive) about these white people." Outside court, an attorney for Thomas, Sue Ellen Eisenberg, called the allegations "unfounded and outrageous." The trial is expected to last about three weeks.

I believe her. Thomas is an embarrasment and makes Scott Layden look like Jerry West.

Don't even put Layden in the same sentence as Jerry West.

I'm waiting until I believe it, but it's his word against her's.

But this part of the Newsday story is very interesting...

But the renewed suggestion that Thomas might be a racist could make him downright unemployable in the future, if he wasn't already because of his mixed success as the Knicks' president and coach, and the rancorous conclusions to his previous tenures as an executive with the Toronto Raptors and Continental Basketball Association. And he could be Dolan's fall guy if the Garden loses this case.

he could offer the judge something like..."I will play in your pickup games as the point guard your honor"...that might work.

Well, Stephon Marbury took the stand yesterday.

He admitted (without saying the word) to having sex with an intern in a limo outside a strip club. Anuca Browne said the girl told her she felt like she had to because of who it was.

And classy Marbury said, "I didn't call her a black b****. I called her a b****." He called her this after she didn't agree to give him more tickets to a game.

After Browne informed Garden President Steve Mills of the complaints, he told her to stay quiet.

If nobody loses their job over this at the Garden, James Dolan is as every bit a clueless oaf as everyone thinks.

How about Marbury's act after the court:

Not many people, after testifying in a sensational trial, after admitting to meeting a female intern in a strip club and after admitting calling a former female employee a "*****" would high-five a buddy before leaving the courtroom and later shout to the world: "I feel grrrrreat."

Surrounded by cameras, Marbury left the courthouse and strutted down Reade Street, not saying much at first. Then he broke into a Chris Brown song. Then he poked fun at a reporter's shoes, giggling and teasing and pointing. Then he resumed singing, only louder. A passerby asked: "Hey Steph, who has the better jump shot, Anucha or Isiah?"

"Uhhh, let me think about that one," said Marbury, with a grin. "Hmmmm."

Then he started singing again.

After four blocks, he finally reached his car, a purple Rolls-Royce, which slowly pulled out of the parking lot with Marbury in the backseat. Then it stopped. Marbury stepped out and demanded to have his picture taken with another reporter. More laughter from Steph. Then he stepped back into the Rolls, rolled down the window and revealed how "grrrrreat" he felt.

The defense begins their case today in the trial against MSG.

James Dolan fired Brown-Sanders for interfering with probe

James Dolan's deposition was shown the court yesterday where he admitted to firing Sanders after he claims against Isiah Thomas persisted. That could come back to bite Dolan if it's found she was fired illegally.

Also, former Knicks asistant coach Lance Nix corroborated Sanders' claims through conversations the two had in the past. Nix said of top MSG exec Steve Mills after he allegedly threatened to push rumors Nix and Sanders had an affair, "I was angry, I said Steve Mills is a f***ing liar."

Mills and Dolan are expected to testify as soon as today.

Dolan is simply a kid and his father game him a couple of toys to play with - the Knicks and the Rangers. He's the real problem.

Well, the trial has gone to the jury as of Thursday. Those close to the case say a verdict is expected sometime Friday. The jury reconvenes Friday morning at 9 AM (eastern).

I think he may wait until after the trial is over before doing anything. Then again, what can he do?


The case resumes later today. The jury will return to deliberations. So it's possible we could see a verdict Monday.
