You couldn't throw a high school team out there and expect them to win because they have good ball distribution.
They are indeed mutually exclusive if that is the only criteria you are measuring by...a team can be talented and full of potential and still miss the playoff by a mile if say all 12 players are very talented 6 foot guards...In that case you can have a ton of talent at one position and still lose a lot of games...and miss the playoffs...thus they are indeed mutually exclusive if held as the only criteria...Tell me that if you have 12 Steve Nash's on your team you would make the playoff's?...doubt it?...are the 12 Steve Nash's talented?...yes of course...

The Knicks of talent...however, they do not have a team.

Alright, you are bringing up mitigating circumstances that have never presented themselves. !2 Steve Nash's? When I say teams with talent make the playoffs I am assuming you understand that this implies the team in question has at least five big men and five perimeter players. Which The Knicks have. They are just lacking talent and team chemistry. If you believe the Knicks are talented enough to make the playoffs as they are now, and they wouldn't benefit from Kobe Bryant on their team because currently their only problem is team chemistry, then which teams in The NBA are devoid of talent? the Knicks have a bunch of inflated contracts, that doesn't necessarily mean they are knee deep in talent.

You totally underestimate my out of the box thinking... ...Almost any tram would welcome Kobe...(maybe not the Heat)...but I doubt he could have account for 25 extra Knicks win on his own...he is not Bird or Magic that got everyone involve...

And contract aside, the Knicks are not the least talented team in the NBA...only the one with the worse record...all I was saying is that it was not so much a talent problem as a chemistry and management problem...

Next thing you know we are talking multiple Nashes...but hey...good arguement...

I have to say they are one of the five least talented teams in The NBA though, certainly less talented then any team in the playoffs.
I can leave it at that.

Lets leave the Knicks 2006 season in one word. A "disaster".

Re: Let's say Kobe was a Knick...

I read somewhere that seven or eight of the Knicks don't want to play for Brown anymore. Can you imagine Kobe the attitude monster in this bunch? Either he joins the rebellion, ignores Brown altogether and sets the record for coast-to-coast attempts in a season or sides with Brown therefore setting all the remaining Knicks against their coach.

The Knicks problems go beyond redundacy: Now they're political.

And Kobe? Two words for his continued success with his often underwhelming supporting cast: Phil. Jackson. Sorry if Phil worship is out of date or old news, but folks have got to start paying attention to the mastery he's applied to this championship series, not to mention the development of Kwame and Smush this season.

Kobe + Knicks divided by Brown = 15-67.

Cheers, all.

Re: Let's say Kobe was a Knick...

So if Kobe comes to New York, will Phil Jackson be part of the deal? Larry Brown and Stephon Marbury for those two?

Re: Let's say Kobe was a Knick...

Larry Brown could keel over tomorrow, so his coaching anyone won't be much of a factor. The bottom line, for the knicks to acquire a guy that fills the seast everywhere he goes, GM Thomas would have to become the General Manager of the Lakers, as only he would be clueless enough to make such a deal! If Brown had not won his one NBA championship with the Pistons, he would only be remembered for his jumping from one team to the next like a frog trying to cross a pond.

It's too bad about Kobe's no-trade clause because Mitch Kupchak would make that ridiculous deal in a minute. There's one problem: This deal would be way too good for the Knicks and so Isiah would have to veto the whole thing. Either that or send Kobe on to the Celtics for Brian Scalabrine.

Cheers.
