Taking into account his previous (pre-Knicks) endeavors, as they're well publicized already, how does this man still have a job? Let alone in the biggest city in the world with all the media and all that good stuff.
Here's the basics of what he's done since becoming Knicks GM...
-Took on millions upon millions of $$$ to remain the highest payrolled team in the NBA. Marbury, Francis, Rose, Penny, M. Rose, Taylor, etc. all make ungodly amounts of money. Guys who made little money who played tough (Nazr, Doleac) were dealt away for some of said players above.
-Traded 1st round pick (no lottery protection) to the Bulls for Eddy Curry and Antonio Davis. Curry is as soft as butter. Davis was later sent packing. Said 1st round pick could be anywhere from 1st-4th overall.
-Fired two coaches (Chaney and Wilkins) and has made two hires (Wilkins and Larry Brown).
-In 1st season under control, Knicks squeaked into playoffs and were swept in humiliating fashion by the rival Nets. Have even sniffed the playoffs since.
-Knicks are coming off the worst season in franchise history and yet Knicks Owner (and MSG Management) Jim Dolan continue to raise ticket prices. (Granted the tix aren't Isiah's fault...but the part about worst record in franchise history...I'd say so)
And ....taken from the NY Daily News:
Quote:
Throughout the '90s and into 2000 the Knicks were a model organization.
The players took pride in wearing "NEW YORK" across their chests. Professionalism was expected and players giving full effort was never an issue. Now, many Knicks don't play hurt or act in a professional manner. Brown disappears from sight, and the organization leaves it to Williams to discuss Brown's status.

The Knicks are in ruin...and I didn't think it could be possible but Scott Layden was
BETTER than Isiah Thomas.
