| Re: One Simple Question Empire, dude, it's all part of what must be a conspiracy involving Isiah, Commissioner Stern, Larry Bird and possibly Spike Lee. How else do you explain the continuing allowance of Isiah to dismantle a major-market franchise, other than to give Isiah's former Indiana and former Detroit squads a further boost? The Detroit win (like the dunk contest) was clearly a fix, a rare moment of excitement for Knickerboosters just to keep the minimum level of interest needed to keep paraphenalia and ticket sales just high enough. I'm sure the exact parameters of the conspiracy, but it must have begun shortly before the ping pong ball in the Patrick Ewing lottery "fortunately" fell the Knicks' way. It makes sense to me... Cheers, all.

| Re: One Simple Question I am usually skeptical of the conspiracy theory, but this seems so likely it is hard to refute. Imagine putting money down on The Pistons moneyline (this means you are taking the Detroit to simply win, not cover) and watching that game in horror. If I endured that type of experience or something similar to it; it would probably totally diminish my interest in gambling. |
