Knicks trade rumors

Found this tidbit over at the NBA Rumors section at Yahoo! Sports: "The New York Knicks could move to acquire Cleveland Cavaliers' power forward Drew Gooden, or possibly small forwards Ruben Patterson of the Milwaukee Bucks or Sacramento Kings' Ron Artest... A potential Gooden deal could include Knicks' forward Channing Frye and other players for salary cap purposes. Gooden would give the Knicks a rugged power forward who can guard big men."

They should be trying to trade people to re-build, not acquire people. Ron Artest? A ticking time bomb. Drew Gooden? Another mediocre player. The Knicks continue to be a disaster.

Re: Knicks trade rumors

If it is performed to lessen the salary cap, then I guess it is the best movement for the organization. Sometimes, you must focus on financials before winning.

Hey, Hey, Hey, don't bad mouth Gooden until after the deal is done. I don't want Isiah reading this and finding out he is mediocre.

Re: Knicks trade rumors

he is trying to bring in defensive players, lee and frye have been unable to guard a pf. and if i had my choice id trade frye because he seems to be able to shoot and thats it, doesnt seem to play defense well at all and sucks on the boards

Re: Knicks trade rumors

Lee is a monster on the boards and plays with the most effort. I guess I wouldn't mind if they were to trade Frye...but for Gooden?

honestly id perfer the artest one. It seems the best way to get a bunch of egos to play as a team is to have a coach with a bigger ego so artest would fit in well under isiah . Brilliant!!!!!

Just as long as they hold onto the draft pick. We Gamecocks are quite proud of Balkman!

Knicks trade rumors

Could the Knicks be involved in the Vince Carter sweepstakes? According to the Bergen Record, "League sources said the Knicks and Nets discussed a Carter deal that would bring Channing Frye, Jamal Crawford and Malik Rose to this side of the Hudson River." Your thoughts?

Re: Knicks trade rumors

What about Kevin Garnett coming to New York? According to the New York Post, "Thomas and team officials have given enough hints the past few weeks that the club has inquired about Garnett, who can opt out of his contract after the 2007-2008 season... The chance of landing Garnett would seem infinitesimal at this juncture because the Knicks can't even offer Wolves expiring contracts any longer because they bought out Maurice Taylor and Jalen Rose in training camp."
