The Jets, once considered a potential suitor for the talented, but troubled Plaxico Burress, no longer are as interested as they once were, according to an NFL source.
That is a rather surprising change for the receiver-needy Jets, who have been linked to Burress since a pre-draft phone call to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.
I'm not buying the notion they're content with the current receiving corps. They need a No. 1 receiver, a big target to complement Jerricho Cotchery. Rex Ryan has gushed about the likes of Brad Smith, Chansi Stuckey and Wallace Wright, but, remember, this is the same coach who spoke highly of Kellen Clemens and Brett Ratliff ... then went out and made a huge trade for Mark Sanchez.
