Now that the Jets have named Chad Pennington their starting quarterback for the regular-season opener at Tennessee, the questions shift to which will stick to the roster.

How about all? The Jets are so spooked from losing as many quarterbacks as they did last season that they now are expected to carry four quarterbacks on their roster -- Pennington, Kellen Clemens, Patrick Ramsey and Brooks Bollinger

Maybe it's a smart decision, too. If the Jets were to cut Bollinger, chances are he could sign with a quarterback-needy team, such as San Diego, Indianapolis, Cleveland or San Francisco. But the Jets aren't going to give any other team that chance. They intend to carry four quarterbacks, even though it will cost them another player at another position.

As for who will backup Pennington, the favorite is Clemens. He has outperformed Ramsey throughout training camp. But the Jets are waiting to see how each quarterback plays in the preseason finale at Philadelphia before they make any decision. So when people say the game means nothing, that would be incorrect. It will decide the backup for Pennington.

I'm sorry but carrying four QBs on a NFL roster is not smart. Why sacrifice another position for a guy that likely will never play a down?

I wouldn't worry about who signs Brooks Bollinger.

Are we sure Bollinger's the guy who gets cut? At this point, why not try and move Ramsey to, say, San Diego?

Other teams have to know the Jets will try to move Bollinger or Ramsey now so I wouldn't expect much in a trade. Perhaps nothing more than a second-day draft pick.

I agree with EmpireWF.

Unless the Jets can strike a deal with Miami since they have plenty of QBs in their depth chart. I would love to have Michael Vick in New York, but I think he is now set on being a WR. Oh well, I am interested to see what moves the Jets make before the regular season.

In other news, I heard that Dominick Davis might be cut.

As bad as Ramsey is, I think he still has more upside than Bollinger.
