Guru 2006 NFL Preview - New York Jets Projected Record 4-12 Projected Schedule W/L @Tennessee(W) New England(L) @Buffalo (L) Indianapolis (L) @Jacksonville(L) Miami (L) Detroit (W) @Cleveland (L) @New England(L) Chicago (L) Houston (L) @Green Bay (L) Buffalo (W) @Minnesota(L) @Miami (L) Oakland (W) It was only 18 short months ago that the Jets were a Field Goal away from going to the AFC Championship Game, TWICE! It has been a steep drop ever since both those field goals went wide right. Their quarterback has had two major shoulder surgeries. Half of the offensive line has been jettisoned, and to top it all off they traded their Head Coach to Kansas City for a 4th Round draft pick. Needless to say Jet fans have no need to book playoff travel plans anytime soon. To see the rest of my preview, check this out!!!

Re: Guru 2006 NFL Preview - New York Jets IMHO teams in the NFL are so closely matched there is a +/- 2 to each team's W/L total. It is fairly easy for a team like the Jets to go 6-10 or 2-14. The jump to .500 or better(9-7) is a much bigger jump. When I look at the Jets there is just too much uncertainty at quarterback and running back for me to think they can make that leap. With a new coach and defensive scheme(4-3 to 3-4) there is going to be some adjustment for players like Jonathon Vilma.....

Re: Guru 2006 NFL Preview - New York Jets Good point SportsGuru about the +/-2 on the W/L records. With the Jets, that could end up hurting them or helping them. A 6-10 record would hurt them come draft time with probably a pick around 8-14 when they certainly need a top 4 overall pick. Fans I think realize this and although aren't hoping for losses, see a tough season ahead of them.
