Jets Acquire Suggs From Browns (no they don't)

Breaking news via ESPNews, the Jets have traded DB Derrick Strait to the Cleveland Browns for RB Lee Suggs.

Does this signal the end of Curtis Martin?

Re: Jets Acquire Suggs From Browns

No doubt in my mind that Suggs is the replacement for Martin, be it now, next season or the year after that. I don't really know what Martin's current status is, but I know for sure that Suggs is a talented back who never got a fair shake with the Browns. No way was William Green EVER a better running back than this kid.

I think I am a better running-back than William Green! and I play QB with my friends.

It is a decent option until Martin is fine to play or retire !

The Jets had no other choice but to find a speedy replacement for now.

I think the Jets made a good move in this. Its not like they had much choice anyway. Blaylock is coming off major surgery, Houston doesnt have the tools to be anymore than good, they wont give Washington a rookie the reigns so Suggs was the best they could do. When Suggs is healthy hes explosive if thats any consolation and the Jets O line is looking real good.

Nevermind...lol

Lee Suggs apparently failed his physical and the trade has been rescinded.

Jets can't catch a break.

Hey now, a little sympathy for William Green who showed a lot of promise before his wife stabbed him multiple times in the back (literally and I am sure figuratively as well). This trade should move him into an uncontested second string position.
But yeah, Suggs should be successful running behind that newly renovated O-line and Browns fans have the privilege of watching yet another former player flourish for a different franchise.

Now from living in NYC all my life and watching the Jets I can honestly say thats typical Jets luck! And the Cleveland Browns think theyre cursed??? If I were Mangini (id leave the country fast!) I would just give the ball to Washington 65% of the time and pray while Houston and Blaylock share the rest. I mean they drafted him why not use him? The Jets may have no choice.

Re: Jets Acquire Suggs From Browns

So being a Jets fan, can you explain to me why they failed to secure a running back for the clearly aging Curtis Martin? I like the offensive line picks, and I tend to think RB is the most replaceable position on the field, but you have to have somebody to run the ball! Not necessarily Reggie Bush (though they probably could have traded up for him with The Texans) but at least someone with NFL like talent.
And too be fair, the Browns have never played in a Superbowl, and they are one of the original franchises. The Jets cannot hold a candle to that level of mediocrity.

Re: Jets Acquire Suggs From Browns

Hold up there partner! I WAS a Jets fan for 10 years. But after Pete Carroll, Rich Kotite and then Herm Edwards along with the constant stupid moves and rotten luck I QUIT!!! Ive been a Giants fan since Coughlin took over and ive never been happier. Read my title NY GIANTS moderator. That means Ross knows theres no one better to keep an eye on my beloved Giants forum than yours truly. And the change was like night and day! Finally a winning attitude!!! The stench of failure was gone and even in rebuilding with Eli they seem to be heading in the right direction. Now as to your question...well soon the Giants will have to replace Tiki according to Tiki so they will have to find a RB too. The Jets made a good move in trying to secure Suggs but the old Jet luck came shining through. As to securing a running back, well they drafted Leon Washington so either use him or gain 3 yards a carry with Houston and Blaylock. My answer: USE LEON WASHINGTON!!!

Re: Jets Acquire Suggs From Browns

That is a decent point, Trashed.

Have we forgotten about the players we already have? Maybe we should take a glance over the roster instead of the trading block, next time. Thanks for pointing that out to us.

By the way, Trashed, how come you aren't posting in our Yankee Forum? You used to be one of our top contributers to that section, next to MVB. Have you betrayed like the Jets?

Re: Jets Acquire Suggs From Browns

Back on topic, anyone know WHY Suggs failed his physical? The Browns are basically denying it, saying that there's no way he could've failed because he's healthy. So what's the deal?
