Ferguson, Mangold close to signing

The AP is reporting that both D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Nick Mangold, the first round picks of the New York Jets, are close to signing and will report to the team's training camp on Thursday. According to the report, "Terms of both deals were unavailable. But Ferguson will probably get at least $18 million guaranteed. Bears running back Cedric Benson, the No. 4 pick last year, got a five-year deal worth about $35 million, with $17.5 million guaranteed." Kellen Clemens is also expected to report. Good sign for the Jets to have all of their rookies in camp, eh?

Sure enough, Ferguson signed his contract Wednesday night.

Cool Re: Ferguson, Mangold close to signing

I wasn't so sure that Clemens was going to report. Newsday Columnist Bob Glauber doesn't think the Jets will be good this year but likes their future.

Re: Ferguson, Mangold close to signing

According to the AP, "In other moves Thursday, the Jets signed first-round pick Nick Mangold and second-round selection Kellen Clemens, getting all their players signed in time for the start of training camp." So everyone's signed and ready to go, Jets fans.
