Brett Favre Says He Needs a Break?

The man being deified in the New York area would like everyone to know that he's really just a man. A 38-year-old man, to be exact.
"My arm is kind of dragging a little bit today,'' said Favre ... "It's really not sore. Fatigued. To be honest with you, I'm kind of surprised I half feel good. I've been able to make it through every practice so far. "I think maybe this afternoon I'm going to talk to Eric (Mangini) about it, limiting my throws. I didn't throw the ball very well this morning. No pain. But I'm 38 years old. I have to be fatigued a little bit.''

Re: Brett Favre Says He Needs a Break?

Oh brother, here we go again. Deep down, didn't we all think he might poop out during training camp?
Time will tell if this is just a passing phase or a "What was I thinking???" moment, but you know which one MY money's on!

Wait a minute, where do you get that? He just said his arm is tired, and he is 38 and maybe he should limit his throws a little.

Ah, should've read the article closer. The headline "Pondering Possible Retirement" was a joke. Whoops.
But I still get the feeling Favre will have second thoughts about launching his big comeback, if he secretly isn't having them already.

I agree. When I first heard this I thought "Uh oh he's going nuts again!" Just when it seemed like the whole Favre fiasco was resolved we have the seeds of what could grow into a tree of insanity. Favre could be realizing like every athlete knows after a long career that he no longer has it. It's a possibility. You know he's going to "retire" again at the end of the year and then 5 months later cry that he wants to play football again continuing this cycle he created. Only thing is the Fred Thomson must be tap dancing on his dining room table that this is no longer his problem!

I'm sure every 30+ player thinks that when his body starts protesting the punishment at some point in the game. Doesnt mean he will try to quit. Come on, give the guy a break. Its a little early to start coming down on him like that.

Re: Brett Favre Says He Needs a Break?

I still think he will do fine despite training camp woes. He was one of the best QB's in the NFC last year. I would say atleast top 3.
