The Jets have made a lot of moves to improve their team for next year, but dont appear to be looking beyond.
They signed Alan Faneca to a huge contract, maybe too huge considering his age by NFL standards.
They traded Jonathan Vilma their star young linebacker for next to nothing.
Alge Crumpler was signed even though Chris Baker was doing a decent job.
Then there's Bubba Franks, from Green Bay.

The Jets simply have too many holes to win now. If they think signing Alan Faneca and that linebacker they have is going to solve all their problems and somehow get them to a winning season they're using normal Jet logic. It's clear that they looked so bad last year and such a mess with seemingly every player playing out of position that Mangini is playing for his job. Mangini wants the Jets to look good enough so he doesn't get fired. The moves they are making will not benefit them in 4 years and that's what they should be looking at.

The Jets are so messed up though that it will be near impossible for this quick fix that Mangini is going for.
