Jets signed LB Calvin Pace to a six-year, $42 million contract. The deal includes $22 million in guarantees and a $20 million signing bonus.
We love Pace's potential, but this is insane money for a player that's had one legitimately good season. The Dolphins and Cardinals weren't going to go this high. Pace will likely play weak outside linebacker in New York opposite LOLB Bryan Thomas. He could approach double digit sacks at that position.

With the Jets recent signings on the defensive side of the ball I wonder who they are going to draft. I say now it's looking like McFadden if he's still there and that's a huge if.

I have to be honest, I never heard of this guy Pace before this. The Jets are really going for broke.

Ha! Me neither but his stats are good and they need that pass rushing linebacker like a thirsty man needs water. If Pace was available which he was I say good signing but it makes this years draft oh so intriguing. I think the Jets are praying McFadden falls to them.
