NFL.com is reporting that the New York Jets are planning on bringing back QB Chad Pennington for the 2008 season. The website references general manager Mike Tannenbaum as saying that Pennington should be back and will be given a chance to compete with Kellen Clemens for the starting job. That said, NFL.com also suggests that he will be asked to take a paycut. So, what do you think, Jets fans? Sounds like they're not planning to go after a new QB during the offseason.

They need so much, and they already drafted Clemens as the QB of the future. Get him some help and give him the job. Maybe he will turn out OK. Look at Favres first year. I think he turned out rather well.

I thing Chad is a very good backup and he can be a starter in a place were weather isn't an issue and he will have a running game. The Vikings should be jumping up to get him.

The problem is that Clemens was shaky this year, so they want a safety net.
