Jets linebacker Jonathan Vilma was placed on injured reserve Saturday with a knee injury, ending the one-time Pro Bowler's season after seven games.

When it rains it pours, but if there's any doubt, the Jets are doing the smart thing. Why risk making the injury worse for a team that's going nowhere this season.
