Re: Jets choosing TE? If they are going to rely on Pennington then a tight end might not be a terrible option. If nothing else Davis is an enormous target. And if you consider the top three tight ends in the league, they all are integral parts too very explosive offenses. Coincidence? Doubtful. I still think they need a quarterback, runningback or someone who is going to receive more touches than a tight end. But Vernon Davis wouldn't be awful, you just can't build an offense around a tight end.

Re: Jets choosing TE? Whomever gets Vernon Davis should count their lucky eggs. The guy is a freak when you look at his skills, his speed/power and abilities on the field. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go 5 or 6. He'll be among the top TEs in the league within 2 years. BOOK IT!

You said it Gotham. The Jets have selected 2 first round tight ends in the last 20 years - Kyle Brady and Johnny Mitchell - both busts as first rounders. They can get too good a player at 4 to trade down for a tight end.

Re: Jets choosing TE? I don't think they should take a tight end either, but doesn't conventional wisdom suggest that Jets fans are going to be displeased with whomever the Jets draft?
