It looks as if Coach Belichick will be punished by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for the stealing signs scandal. The question is, how severe will the punishment be AND will the Jets receive any compensation?

-Perhaps a 1st or 2nd round draft pick taken from the Patriots

or

-Perhaps Coach Belichick will be suspended for the week the Pats play the Jets again


What do you guys think would be fair?

I know rules are rules but this whole thing is bogus. Does anyone really believe that this doesn't go on every week ??? These guys got nailed because they were caught taping it. I still say that if you don't want me to see your secret signals then don't flash them in front of me.

Fair punishment would be, at best, a case of Gatorade to the Jets. I'd even toss in that it must be chilled.

LSC....this whole thing comes after the Commish specifically told teams not to do it. They have to pay the price, or else the Commish will look like....well, he'll look like Bud Selig.

Oh don't get me wrong. I understand that rules are in place for a reason. That doesn't make it totally justifiable and this si one I find to be on the edge of stupid. What will be next ??? You can't look at the opposing teams side of the field ?? I'm sorry but this is a stupid rule in my view. I still stick by my Gatorade answer.

Yeah, the Jets should get some kind of compensation. Awarding them a draft pick seems fair, I guess, but really it should be a forfeit. People can't turn their heads just because it's assumed to go on everywhere, every week from every team. One team got caught doing it against another, and there need to be repercussions.

So why should any team follow any rules then? I know if I were a team i'd plant spies on the opponents if the only price were a case of Gatorade.

That isn't my point. My point is that this rule is stupid. I don't advocate breaking the rules and I feel that this one's violation value is a case of Gatorade. For the life of me I just don't see why this rule is even in existence.

spoken like a true fan of the NFL's seediest and most dishonorable team. The Patsies are cheaters, plain and simple. Makes you wonder about the games they've won. How many were due to winning the "Patriot way". I remember the Jets walking into Foxboro last year and leaving with the win and the most overrated QB in NFL history lying on the turf. Here's where they decided they needed the edge. Makes you wonder how much of a fraud the playoff game was later that year.

How's Harrison's HGH order coming along? Is Brady still contacting Balco, or has he found a new dealer since his name was found on their records?

PS - any other mention of the radio frequency issue? I know here on the WFAN they reported radio issues as well as the recording of signals. However, since then I haven't heard anything else with the radios (possibly being tapped). Wouldn't put it past that collection of trash.

i have to agree ....... and here is why

most of you will know, but some of you may not (LSC for example as football is not his main focus) .... every team takes multiple snapshots of every play .... think none of those snapshots include pictures of the other teams sidelines ? ...... im sure they may not overtly train the camera on the opposing sideline (though i dont know why they wouldnt .... i would try and take multiple shots of their little play chart) many of the pics i have seen cover the entire field including the opposing sideline

You cannot honestly tell me that you don't believe that there isn't another team out there stealing signals can you ???? The difference is that the Pat's were caught "preserving" what they saw. I don't care if it's the Pat's or the Charger's that do/did this. It is an insane rule.

Man, what is it about you Boston guys? If your team had to plant land mines on the opponents sideline to win you'd defend that too. By rights you guys are the moral equivalent of guys like Pacman Jones. You advocate all that's wrong with the game and try to find the silliest loopholes to make it seem logical.
