Chad Pennington's injury

Any word yet on how bad Chad Pennington's ankle injury is? He was scheduled for an MRI yesterday but I can't find any results.

Re: Chad Pennington's injury

Week to week. Mangini is not saying if he'll start vs. the Ravens but I doubt it. Just like the guy said on MNF why NY fans don't like Chad...he doesn't have a cannon arm that can flick a ball 90 yds and get them a 15 point score. They want flash not efficency, they'd rather have those stupid ESPN "plays of the day" than wins. Granted not ALL the fans were booing Chad's injury but most of them were and no doubt after they showed it last night folks, the crowd roared as soon as Chad tried to walk and fell down. Clemens didn't come on the field for about 3 minutes later. Out of all the quarterbacks in the NFL there is no doubt now that Pennington is the most underappreciated.

Cool Re: Chad Pennington's injury

I like Pennington but they should just play Cleamons from here on in. Last year's playoff apperance was fool's gold - the product of a weak schedule.

Re: Chad Pennington's injury

It was still a playoff appearance from a 4-12 season. Chad is disliked because he doesn't have a strong arm hence he's not flashy which is a problem if you're playing in New York. Putting a rookie in his first game with against the Ravens D is like leading a lamb to the slaughter.

Re: Chad Pennington's injury

Chad's the man.

better career QB rating than Brady, Favre, Brees, McNabb, M. Hasselbeck and other vets.

65.1 career completion percentage ranks second-highest all-time.

jets have made the playoffs each year he stays healthy (3 of 3)

he only completes passes and gets the team to the playoffs

Believe it or not New York fans would rather have a guy who has a cannon for an arm rather than a guy who gets them wins. This way the Jets could be on those ESPN late night highlight shows.

see thinking like that is the problem. Chad wins. Not saying Clemens will be as awful as Grossman has been lately, but Chad has done nothing but win and complete passes. There is no problem with that. If the Bears had Pennington (a smart, efficient QB) instead of the INT machine, they might have won the SB.

btw, Nuke, I am a Jets fan too (since the Wesley Walker/Richard Todd days). I'm a big Pennington fan. Might be a Clemens fan too, nothing against him, but Chad is the man in my book.

Re: Chad Pennington's injury

Pennington is a solid QB. He's smart and tough, what more can you ask for? He may not have the gun for an arm but so what? I'd rather have Pennington then some of the other starting QBs in the league.

i got ya, ... yeah you are right, that is what alot of people would rather have. don't know why though, i'd rather have a smart and efficient QB than long bombs and flashy plays.

btw, the best pass in the Spygate game, without question, was Chad's lob to Coles for the first Jets TD. There was more skill and precision in that pass than anything I saw all day.

Mister if you don't think Chad Pennigton is a better quarterback than your boy Grossman who is 2 weeks away from being benched than you are not on drugs because not even drugs could make you say something like that...you are completely and irrecovably insane. And I mean like guys who walk around with tin foil hats, no clothing believing that Elvis is talking to them from beyond the grave insane!!!

I did not say that he was i said the good Rex is more of what fans of big city teams want rather than a consitent 5-10 yard passer like Pennington

Re: Chad Pennington's injury

Pennington has such a love-hate relationship with Jets fans and for what? The guy has literally sacrificed his body for the team and has won a ton of games as starter. It's not his fault the Jets don't have a game breaking WR or a top of the league running back.
