Cool Disgruntled Kendall dealt to Skins

Quote:
After putting the pieces in place throughout the day and agreeing in principle late Wednesday night, the Jets finalized a trade of the disgruntled Kendall to the Redskins yesterday. In exchange for the 34-year-old, 11-year veteran, the Jets received a fifth-round pick in the 2008 draft that could become a fourth-rounder in 2009 if Kendall plays 80 percent of Washington's snaps. The Redskins already had traded their 2008 fourth-round pick for T.J. Duckett last year.

Why no love for Pete?

The Jets should have honored their deal and kept him. Now who will be the LG and do a good job?

To answer your first question, salary cap, salary cap and salary cap. I believe they would have paid Kendall if they weren't in rebuilding mode and would have to sign younger players later. Hey he was good for the 'Brick and Mangold, tutoring them on technique and stuff. To answer your second, well I can't and that worries me frankly. Perhaps i'll take a look see at the Jets official site to see what they have to say about it.

Jets look bad here though...they ask him to take a pay cut and promise to up his salary in a later year. When it comes time to pay up, they say no and play child games ("accidentally" assigning Kendall to the rookie dorm rooms) and refuse to honor their agreement.

That's Eric Mangini. Everyone wants a winner like Bill Belichik and they got one, his former right hand man but remember that Belichik is a cold, hard man so you have to expect this from Mangini. As long as Mangini keeps winning though just as BB does this kind of stuff will get forgotten fast. I guess nice guys do finish last.

Tony Dungy is a 'nice guy' and he has a Super Bowl ring on his hand now.
