Abraham Traded to Falcons

Here we go...

Jets send Abraham to Atlanta

Mar 21, 2006

By MSGNetwork.com

MSG's Anthony Fucilli is reporting that the Jets have sent John Abraham to the Falcons in exchange for the 29th pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

In a three-team deal, Atlanta received the Denver Broncos' third and fourth round picks in addition to Abraham, while Denver acquired the 15th overall pick from the Falcons.

Denver's 29th pick goes to New York.

Abraham, a six-year defensive end, was drafted by the Jets with the 13th overall pick in the 2000 draft and has 283 career tackles and 53.5 sacks.

Cool Re: Abraham Traded to Falcons

All they got was a 29th pick for a guy who has had 10 sacks in 4 of the last 6years? In today's Newsday, it looks like the Jets are going to trade up to get Leinart. But who knows? The Jet plans change every day.

There are so many "top tier" players in this year's draft, you really can't go wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets trade up for Leinart...the kid says he would love to play in NY. If it only takes the 4th and 29th pick...no way they shouldn't do it.

Re: Abraham Traded to Falcons

They've got 3 of the top 36 picks in the draft now, right? Definitely sounds like trade up material to me. Deal the two first rounders to move up and you still have a shot at a pretty good player early in the second. Sure sounds like they've got Leinart on the mind to me, but then, if nothing else the Jets are unpredictable come draft day.
