who should the jets draft

i know they need a run stopper on defense, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of really good ones to choose fro at 25th overall. And i think that tight end from Miami Greg Olsen wouldn't be a bad pick. he is a good receiving tight end and teams would have to cover him which would give more room for Jericho and Coles. Also i have been hearing recently that they might take Paul Posluzny the LB from Penn State.

They need a pass rushing outside linebacker.

Re: who should the jets draft

The Jets could honestly use a decent and reliable running-back. Conflicting media opinions, I don't believe that Anthony Thomas is the answer to their rushing problems. He might do the job but if they want to be a Super Bowl team, they need somebody incredibly good. Leon Washington is no longer reliable since he has "on and off" games.

I don't know why but I think the Jets will use some early picks on defense. There will be some nice defensive ends available late in the first. They could also look to pick up a linebacker or defensive back.

Posluzny would be a great pick if they can get him. Jack Ham said he is the best linebacker to ever play at Penn St.

Re: who should the jets draft

Anthony Thomas, the "A-Train", remember? Older Michigan and Bears RB. If it were him the Jets acquired, then yes, they should still draft a tailback. But it wasn't. Thomas Jones is far and away a better back than the A-Train ever was, and pairing him with Leon Washington gives them a really good backfield. Defense would be the way to go - most likely a pass rusher or a good cover corner.

Re: who should the jets draft

Last night on Football Friday Todd Mcshay had his whole mock draft. He had the Jets taking Greg Olsen the tight end. He said it would give Chad a target in the middle and open up some space for the other receivers. which is basically the same thing I said.

The Jets are gonna draft Olsen if he's still around, that's what I think.

Re: who should the jets draft

I really think it is a fomality so it's just a matter of his choice of numbers and more importantly...IF he's still around at that position.

Any chance that Olsen might turn out to be more Kyle Brady than Tony Gonzalez Nuke?

Who do you think the Jets should draft if Olsen weren't available. I think, they should draft Pual Posluzny if Olsen isn't there.

Oh there's always that chance. Tight ends are hard to scout and it's a hard transition from college to the pros for them. They have to block and catch passes in intriciate offense schemes and sometimes it doesn't work out. Jeremy Shockey while having very good numbers just to me seems like Shockey could do so much more. Maybe even the best in the game but to me he just hasn't grasped the NFL fully. With that said I say the Jets should take Olsen but the Jets have had lousy luck with tight ends that's for sure.
