ESPN 2's Cold Pizza is reporting that the Jets are expected to be major players for many free agents and/or possible trades this offseason. Names being tossed around include Matt Schaub, Michael Turner and Asante Samuel. Think the Jets can land any of those guys? Should they?

Hmm...I'm almost certain Matt Schaub and Matt Turner will be tendered at the highest level by the Falcons and Chargers respectively. Meaning, to sign either away you will need to give up a 1st and 3rd round pick this year.

Is that a price the Jets are willing to pay?

Matt Schaub is decent, but not better than Chad Pennington under any extent.

Well I figured he'd be Chad's backup. The Jets need a power runningback to control the clock. I hope they address this in the draft somehow.

Schaub isn't the answer. Maybe they can trade up and get Brady Quinn. The Jets will never win a Super Bowl with Pennington.

They can live with Pennington for another year. They should get a quality RB first.

I like Lynch...like him over Turner...Chad, unless he breaks down again, is the least of their problems.

He is still a fair risk throughout the season, but Leon Washington seems even worse.

He can easily crack 100 yards, but somedays he doesn't seem to run over 50.

Tiki Barber was the same type of back early in his career. Washington needs to bulk up like Barber did or he is just gonna be a change of pace back or at best a Joseph Addai share the workload type back. I'd draft a powerback and make it my first priority to do so because I don't trust Turner.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Washington was a rookie, right? Give him some time... he has promise.
