Wildcard Playoff Jets at Patriots

The New York Jets will play their first post-season game since the Pittsburgh fiasco a few years ago next Saturday at New England. Sunday afternoon in Fox Boro, the third game of their series will be played. Both teams have a win this season against the other.

It should be a great game especially when you consider the storyline of Belichick and Mangini in the playoffs.

I don't like this match-up, but I think the Jets will come up on top.

No respect! The Jets never get any respect! I think Mangini will get the Jets totally focused for the game. I say we play mistake free football and beat the Pats in Foxboro again. But it will be tough, because the Pats are invincible in home playoff games.

I am so pumped up! I want to beat the Patsies so bad, they won't even know what hit 'em!

In a word...no. The Jets need a power run game, better linebackers and the O-Line needs to mature (which it will) to play with the likes of the mighty Patriots. I left it when the Chad tossed the ball and Roosevelt Colvin blocked it and the Pats ran it back to the Jets 15. It started to get really ugly from that point on. You were right JYRN the Jets needed to play a mistake free game but they didn't. It's hard to play mistake free against the Patriots because they force mistakes. I think the Jets needed to get Kevin Barlow more involved in the running game. Make Barlow and Washington used the same way that the Colts use Addai/Rhodes. Perhaps Washington will bulk up and go the Tiki Barber route from scatback to Barry Sanders. Who knows but the Jets need more ball control and running the ball down the oppositions throat is the only way to do that. Still 10-6 from 4-12 is a great season and I applaud the NY Jets for it and a bright future for their fans. THANK YOU NEW YORK JETS!!!

Thanks for painting the Jets in a pleasant perspective, Nuke.

The Jets need:
a)a solid RB
b)to resolve conflicts with McCareins.

B) Is easy Marc. Cut him or trade him if conflict arises that distracts the team. Mangini is usually good at choosing the best personnel for the job though. Thats why you saw the emergence of Jericho Cotchery and Kerry Rhodes among others.

What do you think about signing Michael Turner?

I'm high on Turner. Excellent RB who will really shine as the primary back in someone's backfield. A Turner-Washington combo I think would really establish the Jets backfield nicely. Is Martin pretty much out of the picture? I know he's no long term answer, but I was wondering if he had another decent year or two in him.
