Cool Pennington is a Class Act

Even though it looks like Pennington's days with the Jets are numbered, I for one would like to say what a class act the guy was.

He brought back hope to the franchise. Many Jet fans including me, thought he'd be the next Montana. He was that accurate and that much of a leader.

He also played hurt, even doing more damage to his arm when most QB's would never have played.

He knew something was deathly wrong in that Jacksonville game but went back in anyway after Jay Fiedler got hurt. We'll never know how much extra damage he did to an already torn rotator cuff in that game.

Pennington is a rich man, and I'm certainly not going to take a collection up for him anytime soon. But he really is a top notch person and competitor.

Re: Pennington is a Class Act

There's no questioning his character or him as a person. He's a natural leader and a smart guy but it just didn't turn his way.

His arm problems got the best of him. The Jets rushed him back from his surgery last off-season b/c they were scared the team would suffer if he didn't come back right away. As it turns out, they're paying for that decision now.

Who knows if Pennington will ever play again in the NFL...but his short time as starter for the Jets was pretty eventful. Let's not forget, he killed Manning in the playoffs those few years ago.
