Jets vs. Bills

New York improved to 7-5 with a big win over Green Bay on Sunday. They definitely appear to be candidates for an AFC Wild Card berth, but first they need to hold off the 5-7 Buffalo Bills. The Bills played tough last week but wound up losing the Chargers. Can New York overcome their division rivals from Buffalo in this one?

Cool Re: Jets vs. Bills

This is exactly the kind of game the Jets normally lose at home. A game late in the season that they should win. But maybe Mangini has changed that glass half empty mindset of the Jets.

Brian Bassett of the Jetsblog.com is concerned about how the Jets D plays against the Bills improving offense:
Quote:
Certainly, the Jets defense is playing worlds better than it did in their last meeting back in Week 3, but how do you gameplan for a team with a mediocre defense, but some speedy deep threats, an excellent rusher, a QB who is gaining confidence and a pretty darn good special teams unit?

My answer is that Mangini hasn't been outcoached in any of the Jet games so far I'm sure he'll figure something out.

Does anyone else that the Bills offense will give the Jets D trouble?

No Mangini hasn't been outcoached but he has made some mistakes by taking silly gambles such as that Bears game onside kick. Still Mangini is a perfect fit for this team as he is seemingly squeezing a playoff berth out of what was to believed to be a 5-11 team. I don't think the Jets can take the Bills lightly though because the Bills always play the Jets tough and also because Losman is an off and on QB but when he is on which is a possibility on sunday he can be a killer.

Re: Jets vs. Bills

I never knew that the New York Jets were predicted to obtain a horrific 5-11 record. It was only a few years ago when the were close to winning the Super Bowl. Now, that championship trophy looks out of their grasp. They have a great bunch of papers but need to work out some problems and adjustments before they can seriously contend for the title.

JP Losman hasn't truly impressed me as a quarterback. However, that may be because I appreciated the arm of Drew Bledsoe and lost interest in the Bills organization once they let go of both Bledsoe and Moulds. But, I still feel that there are better quarterbacks out there. Once the story is over, Losman is considered an unsteady quarterback, as Trashed implied earlier.

Re: Jets vs. Bills

The Bills certainly have the personnel to exploit the Jets but can the Bills stop Pennington? He's on a nice momentum streak.

Re: Jets vs. Bills

That's what Street and Smiths magazine predicted the Jets would finish Marc. Some had 'em pegged for 4-12! Losman hasn't impressed me either that much but he has burned a few teams this year with some great numbers along with his poor performances. Also the Bills D is very good. This is the type of game it's hard for a team like the Jets to get pumped up for and the type of game they end up losing. I hope Team Mangini is prepared mentally and physically for what is going to be a tough division game.

Re: Jets vs. Bills

I'm sure the Bills have to be concerned about McGahee, Whitner and that CB, Ol' Whatshisface, that might miss the game. Those would be some mighty talented players for them to be without, especially against a playoff contender like the Jets.

Yes they are but they lose to their first opponent. Sorry but I really think in a wildcard playoff game against a team like the Ravens or Broncos the Jet weaknesses will be exposed.

The Broncos aren't a Wild Card team under Jay Cutler.

Re: Jets vs. Bills

Jets just got outplayed and got their rear end kicked no doubt there. Told you Losman can be dangerous at times and today was a time alright. Add in that stout defense they have and Willis McGahee and it was just not the Jets day today simple as that. Put it behind you and look to next week vs. the Vikings.
