MANGINI's ONSIDE KICK

While I was watching the Jets game, the onside kick early in the 4th quarter definitely caught me by surprise. A lot of people seemed to have a problem with it, including at first, myself. I thought Mangini had simply thrown the game away. But I read an article that actually explained the percentages behind the call. It honestly made me change my mind, I know that it didnt work this time around but I don't think it was a terrible call. I mean, had it worked, I would have been ecstatic.

Re: MANGINI's ONSIDE KICK

Since they never scored, it didn't really matter in the end. Gutsy call, the exact opposite of Herman Edwards. Can only make his players respect him more.

Re: MANGINI's ONSIDE KICK

I still haven't made up my mind on Mangini.

I have to admit that I still support Herman Edwards.

Re: MANGINI's ONSIDE KICK

I like his play calling style. He uses the onside kick well and as a boost for the team. I like a coach with some guts.

Re: MANGINI's ONSIDE KICK

It is nice to see a coach that is not afraid to gamble on a chance to win the game. I would like to see more of this in the NFL. I would not be against teams trying on 4th down even if the percentages aren't in favor of it.
