| Curtis Martin Out For Season, Retire? The Jets announced today that Curtis Martin was placed on injured reserve (after being on the physically unable to perform list for months), ending any hope he will return this season. It also puts in doubt whether or not he'll ever return to the field. Martin's knees are suffering from a bone-on-bone condition because there's no cartiledge to protect him. It's obviously painful. Martin is a hall of fame running back and the Jets have tried to compensate for not having him available all season with Kevan Barlow, Leon Washington and Cedric Houston. |

| Re: Curtis Martin Out For Season, Retire? I'm sure everyone's heard the newspaper reports that said Martin has already decided to retire. He's denying it, but come on, the writing's on the wall. He's had a Hall of Fame career, but now he's getting older and is banged up, and the Jets have found a new featured back in Washington. All the pieces are in place for him to step aside. It's just a matter of time.
