Hey Jets fans, what's the latest on Chad Pennington's injured shoulder?

I hear the latest reports are that they want him to take a pay cut, and new head coach Eric Mangini and GM Mike Tannenbaum want to use the No. 4 pick on a QB. Is it looking that bad? What about Fiedler?

I know one thing for sure - they can't survive another year of Brooks Bollinger, Vinny Testaverde and Kliff Kingsbury!

Testaverde retired. Fiedler is a free-agent now.

Pennington is still recovering from the shoulder surgery. I haven't heard much lately but I doubt they'll rush him back.

I'm still of the thought that they should use the 4th pick on the OT Ferguson (if he's there) or one of the defensive players. Lately there's been talk that one of the top two QBs (Leinart, Young) may drop to 4 because Ferguson has impressed everyone. The next two months will be key for the Jets as a franchise and its future.

I'm still convinced that Ferguson will become a Texan, most likely as some part of a trade down. No one needs OL as badly as they do.

The rumor mill says that unwillingness to draft a QB was one of the things that led to Edwards departure as coach (which was a mistake, but that's for another thread). Dunno if there's any truth to this or not, but somebody somewhere certainly seems to think that the Jets need to go Leinart or Young.

Think they'll be looking for any veteran, back-up QBs via free agency?
