Jaguars Obliterate Jets In Every Way, Shape And Form!

Yikes!!! I mean even in losses to the Colts and Pats the Jets did plenty of things right and Chad Pennington looked good, such wasnt the case yesterday. The Jaguars looked like they were practicing more than playing an NFL game. The one good Jet point is that Leon Washington (who I said should be and would be the #1 back if given a fair chance) played well but it's easy to run on a team with a 40 point lead. Hey ya gotta take good news where you can get it and there wasn't much for the Jets yesterday. The Jags looked great and now it seems that Maurice Jones-Drew "Fragile Fred" Taylor doesn't anchor the run game anymore. Byron Leftwich living up to his billing even though it took him some time. Where was Johnathan Vilma? He didn't do much to stop the run at all. In fact I barely heard or saw him. Definitely not a 3-4 inside linebacker because his strength is running laterally. The 3-4 demands running straight forward and forcing your physicality on the opponent's backs and Vilma is a bit too small for that, this could be a big problem as time goes on. Speaking of going on or rather moving on if I were the Jets I would watch the film and learn from their many mistakes but the Jags were just simply the far better team so put it behind them and concentrate on next week.

Re: Jaguars Obliterate Jets In Every Way, Shape And Form!

This must have been a tough pill to swallow, especially after all the great performances by the Jets in recent weeks. But I guess the Jaguars were just that good last night.

Pennington must have been sick with himself, he's such a perfectionist.

But if I were a Jets fan, I'd have faith in Mangini to know they'll learn something from the painful experience of such a loss.

Washington is cut in the Dunn and Bush mode...he is a change of pace back with a good upside...but I don't think he can carry a full load for a season.
