Cool Islanders sign Sean Hill

Garth Snow made his first free agent aquisition signing 36 year old Sean Hill. With all the guys in their 30's they've signed,The Islanders are built to win now.

Re: Islanders sign Sean Hill

i dont think this is a stanley cup team, nor do i think its going to be a playoff team, theres to much going on in this organzation that i think there is going to be more distractions off the ice then on the ice. I think they do have a solid team anchored by one of the better goalies in the leauge, but remember the rangers for years had "playoff teams" and they did nothing. But who knows im making predictions before the season starts i could be wrong, in that case if im wrong dont use this agaisnt me in may :-p

What I meant by "playoff team" was that they have acquired a lot of veterans which means they're going for it right now. Will it work? Your guess is as good as mine. They have so many new players and a new head coach that I have no idea what they're going to look like when they hit the ice. It can go either way.

ill agree with you that their going for it. Would you agree that no one knows how to build a team right now, and they need another season or two to get use to building teams with the salary cap?

But i forgot to add Sean Hill is a solid player that can be usefull to any team competing for a playoff spot

Yes. Mervin. I agree with everything you say. But maybe they'll be like Carolina was last year and just click...and then again, they can be like the BlackHawks and stink.
