| It's Over After watching 2 painfully subpar games over the weekend I think it's safe to say we are finished as far as any possibility of making the playoffs is concerned. 53 shots on goal vs Florida and ZERO freakin goals???!!!! I don't have much hockey experience but I have to believe I could've scored once out there! How sad a team are we?? It was great to see the Stanley Cup guys back at the Coliseum again but we need to let go of the past because the future is very much in doubt. Let's bring em all back when we have a good team! |

| Re: It's Over Hi Pundit... I agree with you on all fronts except Gervais and Tambellini...here is why... Gervais is young and defense can be taught much more readily than how to score...I believe Gervais will make a fine defenseman in the NHL. Tambellini....if there was ever a player I have seen who reminded me of Jason Blake when he was the same age it is Tambellini. Blake started his career with the LA Kings and routinely shuttled between the IHL and the Kings...Andy Murray, the Kings coach at the time did not believe Blake had the size or talent to make it in the NHL and played him sparingly throughout his tenure in LA. He orchestrated the trade that sent him to the Island for a 5th round pick. Years later, Murray apologized for not believing in Blake and JB went on to score 115 goals in 4 seasons with the Islanders. If we give up on Tambellini we will regret it for the next decade....in my opinion we need to be patient...he will make it and be an asset on our team for a long time. |

| Re: It's Over Yeah I also agree on some of our points but I'm just gonna ry to expand on some of them. Comrie's 20 goals is quite annoying but then I look at the rest of thje 13-14-15 teams in the conference and pretty much every team has a very good scorer like Atlanta, they've landed Kovalchuck and look where they are!Like I' m still unimpressed with our overall play, like e're not playing asleep its just that our tam hasn't meshed yet!I am not trying to make excuses but I don't think its totally fair to blame everyone cause our defense is only allowing one goal losses and goal-tending is fine i mean Dubie only let 1 goal in!So it kinda lands on our offense, like Comrie isn't playing just awful i mean 20 goals is still pretty darn good but the guy who I think just need to step it up an inch or two is Guerin cause weirdly I look at Bill and see him as a potential 30-35 goal scorer! So I am not sure if we just haven't turned our guys on after the break or something but we're in a slump and looking at teams like Minny, their fans ere in a mad mob like us and after a while their players went from lunplugged, lazy players to an full-working,exciting team.So what I'm saying is if you just cross your fingers and wait they'll probably turn on faster but if your smashing the machine and like kicking it is not gonna turn in for a while! |

| Re: It's Over OK....not sure how to reply to the last couple of posts except to say this is not a slump. The Islanders are the worst offensive team in the league next to the Blues....thats not my opinion, it is a statistical fact...ranked 29th out of 30 teams. That is the sign of a team devoid of an offensive threat. Defensively we are average..Witt, Martinek, Campoli (when helathy), Meyer, and Gervais are adequate and I think Campy and Bruno will only get better. Satan is way past his prime and his shot is no longer feared by the opposition. Guerin still has a good shot but is slow and can no longer compete physically with the talent around the rest of the league. the Islanders will not find a quick fix to their problems...we need a complete retooling of the roster...keep Tambellini, Nielsen, Comeau, Colliton, and Bergenheim...we have to keep Comrie and Hunter now thanks to Snow...if we end up retaining Fedotenko I won't be too upset, but everyone else besides Park can take a hike for all I care....let's bring up Walter and Okposo next season, try to sign 1-2 free agents (that will be tough because no one wants to come to the Island with the team we have now), and draft well this June...it is a DEEEEEP DRAFT...right now we would pick 7th but I have a feeling we will improve on that and lemme tell you...that SHOULD fetch us a very good player who will be ready to step in immediately and work with our other young talent...IFFFFFF we do all that, then next year will be exciting and potentially the start of a perennial contender...who knows? All I know is this team is no damn good. If it wasn't for Nolan we would be in last place...how we have a winning record is beyond comprehension. |

| Welcome to GoTeamsGo and to our Islanders board - RidinTheIsles44.... I wasn't knocking Comrie for having 20 goals. My point is that when your TOP goal scorer only has 20 goals how can you win like that? He'd be fine as a 2nd or 3rd line center. Isles2279. At this point, they either have to commit to Tambellini or get rid of him. They sort of half-ass it with him. He's up - he's down - then when he's up he only gets 9 minutes ice time. I hope you're right about Tambellini. But we need to start seeing the results. The only reason I would get rid of Gervais is because who else on our team has any trade value? |

Like I definitely think we need a better scorer and at the trade-deadline I thought we might have been able to land a deal to get Hossa, cause we've got so many people who are almost proving to be dead weight.(Comrie,Tambellini and Company) I'm also getting to the point where I really want to sign a bunch of FA's this season and maybe he Isles should experiment in bringing a bunch of kids up from Bridgeport. Also thanks for welcoming me ThePundit,I'm starting to really tarting to et into Isles hockey but I'm just wondering what I should do livin in Canada cause I'm like never able to atch any Isles games! |

Great win last night against the Rangers....And Speak of the Devil...Tambellini wins it in the shootout. Now all he has to do is score when somebody's defending him....Everytime I count the Islanders out, they win games they have no business winning.... |

| Re: It's Over yeah and it was Dubielewicz in the shutout 4-3 win. good to hear from him. I do know that TSN often has other games on, which could mean any NHL team on any given night. always check it out. There's LeafsTV which is just more Leafs. Other than that, I am too cheap to gun for more games and I listen to the FAN radio station to catch up on those I don't get. I thought if you went for one of those huge digital packages, Ridin, that you would have access to more games, particularly New York and Buffalo games.
