I've never seen Ted Nolan rip into the Islanders this much like he did last night after they lost to the Sabres 6-3.
Quote:
Nolan took out his frustration on defenseman Bryan Berard and forward Jeff Tambellini. The Islanders were trailing 1-0 after a screened shot by Buffalo defenseman Nolan Pratt when Berard took a lazy holding penalty behind his own net late in the period. Berard never saw the ice again.
"We've been pretty patient, giving guys all kinds of opportunities," Nolan said. "But patience can only go so long. You have to produce, and you have to work hard. If you don't maybe somebody else will." |
Regarding his top line of: Bill Guerin, Mike Comrie and Tambellini

"You get tired of watching one line in our defensive zone the whole two periods," Nolan said of his top line. "They didn't get out of our zone more than one or two times. That's just unacceptable. You have to have your top line get out of our defensive zone so you can at least attack the other end. "

You tell him Ted. I've been saying this forever: In the NHL it's about production - not anything else.
A major problem that the Isles have is that they can't move the puck out of there own zone this year. They miss Tom Poti big time. Andy Sutton is a turnover machine and don't ask me what happened to Radek Martinek - he's been terrible.
