Quote:
Call it a different kind of hat trick for New York Islanders forward Miroslav Satan.
For the third straight game, Satan scored the winning goal, and the New York Islanders denied Devils goalie Martin Brodeur his 500th NHL victory with a 2-1 win over New Jersey on Saturday night.
"It's the way it's going," Satan said. "It's pointless to analyze it. I'm just glad to help the team."
Josef Vasicek also scored for the Islanders, who won their fourth in a row and finished a six-game homestand with five wins. Rick DiPietro turned aside 19 shots for his eighth win this season, and 98th in the NHL. He made a huge stick save on Brian Gionta with 25 seconds left to preserve the win.

The Islanders have 18 pts, 2 pts behind Philly and 1 point behind the Rangers but have 3 games in hand over the Flyers and 4 games in hand over the Rangers.
Satan is on fire and Andy Hilbert's pointless streak is kept alive.
