Forever in the old chemistry lab, trying to find just the right mix of player talent, style and disposition, Islanders coach Ted Nolan yesterday experimented with a Bill Guerin-Trent Hunter switch in hopes of blowing up something in Washington tomorrow night against the Capitals.
Guerin was moved from the hot-gone-cold forward line with Mike Comrie and Ruslan Fedotenko to work alongside center Mike Sillinger, in what Nolan called a "subtle change" similar to the recent joining of Sean Bergenheim with Miroslav Satan and Josef Vasicek.
Of course, such tinkering almost never ends in hockey, and with the Islanders off to a 3-3 start and in the midst of a 29-day span when they will play only seven games, Nolan sees "the perfect schedule for the type of team we have. We have a bunch of new players getting to know each other."

Guerin, Hunter switched in search for goals -- Newsday.com
So the three lines look like this:
Fedetenko-Comrie-Hunter
? - Sillinger-Guerin
Satan-Bergenheim-Vasichek[/b]
It doesn't say who the 2nd line left wing is but I hope it's not Hilbert. Hopefully it's Chris Simon. Jeff Tambellini was sent down.
And they're talking about scratching Bergeron because of his defensive lapses. Are they kidding? He's too good in the offensive zone. Scratch Gervais. He's sort of useless.
2 guys Nolan is in love with that I just don't get: Hilbert & Gervais.
