Let the Speculation Commence!

Ok, now that we're a few weeks away from the beginning of camp, I think its about time we start speculating about lines and defensive pairings....
Lets start with defense:

Im thinking:
Witt-Martinek
Sutton-Bergeron
Campoli-Gervais

Where does Meyer fit in?

I'll let someone else start offense.

I like your D pairings. Meyer might even play before Gervais.

Here's my offense lines:

1) LW- Satan C -Comrie, RW-Guerin
2) Bergenheim-Sillinger- Hunter
3) Sim - JASON ALLISON? - Fedotenko
4) Simon - Park - Sean Bates
(I can live without Andy Hilbert on team - he tries but doesn't have the skill).

If Allison isn't signed, I guess they can move Bates up to 3rd line.

Those are interesting combinations Pundit....I'm not a big fan of Allison...question his durability since his concussion problems and I consider him a defensive liability so I can't see Nolan giving Snow the green light to sign him. I like Satan on the Hunter-Sillinger line since its the only line Ive ever seen him give actual effort on....what about Tambellini? Here are mine:

1. Fedotenko-Comrie-Guerin
2. Satan-Sillinger-Hunter
3. Bergenheim-Bates-Simon
4. Tambellini-Park-Sim

Here's why:
1st line is a no-brainer to me, unless you want to sub Bergenheim or Tambellini for Fedotenko to get more speed along side Comrie. 2nd line: already stated my reasons. 3rd line let Bergenheim or Tambellini skate with Bates and use Simon as protection and to make room...Bates needs a shadow like Simon because if you touch him, Bates self-destructs (the most fragile player we have), both could benefit from the space Simon provides. Yashin was credited for the success of the Simon-Blake-Yashin line early last year, but if you ask me, Simon was the reason...he created the space necessary for both Yashin and Blake to work together and got little credit for his role. 4th line: Thats where Sim belongs (1st impression of him)...Tambellini deserves better but he can work his way up from there, and Park definitely should never leave that 4th line...EVER. I would like to see Nokelainen make the club because we need a physical forward in here besides Simon, and the kid hits hard and makes room.

What you say makes sense. Your line combos are good.A lot of this is going to depend on what Nolan sees on the ice.

But we really do need another center. I left Tambellini out assuming we got Allison.

I had no idea Allison was seriously considering NYI.

Cool Re: Let the Speculation Commence!

All of these guys will consider anybody as long as they cough up the bucks.

From Greg Logan's blog:

Quote:
The most intriguing option might be 32-year-old Jason Allison, who sat out last season while sorting out problems associated with his divorce. Rust could be an issue for a center who has played only one of the past four seasons thanks to injuries, personal problems and the lockout, but Allison had 60 points for the Maple Leafs in 2005-06 and might provide the playmaking boost the Islanders need.
