Cool Isles just don't quit

They beat the heck out of an Atlanta team that really needed the game. The Islanders are playing with 7 rookies in their lineup. I hope whomever the next GM is considers Brad Shaw to remain as coach.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) -- The Islanders are playing as though they can still make the NHL playoffs.

Miroslav Satan had a goal and two assists, and the New York Islanders beat the Atlanta Thrashers 5-1 Saturday night.
"Every game from here on out is a Game 7," Satan said. "This was a chance to stay alive, and we'd rather be five points out than nine points out. At nine points, it's just about over."

There you go...that's what you want your star saying...they want to play every game like game 7...They should have started sooner with that attitude...

Cool Re: Isles just don't quit

Maybe it took getting rid of the underachieving veterans and this infusion of youth to get this going. It's probably too little too late for this year but it gives me some hope that they may be building something for the next couple of years.

Sean Begenheim has infused a massive amount of energy into this team.
