| Re: Chris Simon NHL Suspension Well, the punishment is official. Simon is gone for the regular season and playoffs -- an NHL record 25 games minimum, according to the Associated Press. Furthermore, if the Isles don't play 10 postseason games, the difference will be enforced next season. Too much? Too little?

| Re: Chris Simon NHL Suspension fair. on yahoosports, it says: Simon's one-year deal with the Islanders will run out before he is eligible to play again. He can become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Based on Simon's $1 million contract, he will lose at least $80,200 because of the suspension. so, I wonder what the islanders will do next year? will they want him? |

| Re: Chris Simon NHL Suspension ...and pray tell, this is based on what?...its a sports of instinct and emotions...and the guy said he got a concussion when slammed into the boards...and form all this the conclusion is that Simon is a coward?...oh please...its part of a sport where a certain amount of violence is allowed...but its easy to second guess every action when not on the ice with these guys...its a blurry line at best, but we can sit here and say without the least bit of hesitation that we know where the line is and what it takes to cross it or not cross it...He is suspended for the season...that's enough...Kermit Washington cost Rudy T's baseketball career and got what 32 games?...of course he was pretty much blackballed by the league after his career was done...so justice?...perhaps... |

| Re: Chris Simon NHL Suspension nah i dont think he should be banned for life, Look the guy made a huge mistake, and should of been suspended for exactly what he got and maybe some probhation. As far as the concussion i question that, and to some extent he turned away from the oncoming hit that put him in that postion anyway. But if Bertuzzi didnt get banned he shouldnt of. However i would of liked to seen him have to apply for reinstatement so, the nhl could best protect it self from having a similar incident happen during one of its games

| Not banned for life. Listen, it's not like the act was premediated. Like when Latrell Sprewell left practice for 1/2 an hour and then came back and choked PJ Carlisemo. Sometimes, your adrenaline starts to pump and you do things that you regret. I think the Isles will re-sign Simon. First of all, Nolan loves him. If they don't re-sign Ryan Smyth, he'll almost definitely be back. |

| Re: Chris Simon NHL Suspension Quote:
and on nolan, nolan coached him in juniors, nolan will fight to keep simon he thinks he is a great locker room guy, ive never heard he was a bad locker room guy so i expect he will re sign with the isles Ryan smith y do i got afeeling he will return to edmonton |

| If your so sure, then why didn't he re-sign when it was only a measly 300 grand a year? I'm not saying he's not going back to Edmonton, but Long Island is a pretty nice place to raise a family and we're giving him and his family the red carpet treatment. And remember, the bottom line with 99% of these athletes is no matter what they say, they almost always take the most money. So if the Islanders offer him $6 mill a year, is he going to turn it down? |

| Re: Chris Simon NHL Suspension I don't mean to insult the Island. And you guys better be giving him the red carpet treatment - you got the trade of the season. I just think he has a soft spot for Edmonton, that the trade shocked him and that edmonton fans want him back. It's my prediction. |
