Cool Islanders Ted Nolan blog

The Islanders begin a seven game homestand against the Bruins tonight. Here's what Ted Nolan has to say:

Excited to get the Coliseum filled
UNIONDALE, NEW YORK

We talked before this stretch of games where we were on the road for seven of ten games that if we got through this unscathed, we'd be okay. We started two games over .500 and now we're five games over .500. Now that we're home for seven games, this is the time to make your hay. In this league we know you have to come to play every night, but at least we're in the confines of our building. The guys get to rest in their own beds, and we're excited to get this rink jammed for the next seven games.

We go into every game thinking we're going to win, so we're going for 14 points. It's all about confidence and believing in yourself. That is the approach we've had all year. In order to win, it's about doing the simple things. It's nothing fancy. It's about the basics – getting the pucks in, getting the pucks out, jamming for the net and taking short shifts. It's all the stuff we've talked about since Yarmouth and up until now. Our team competes hard, and if you compete hard, good things usually happen.

7 in a row at home. Do islanders fare better at home, Pundit?

Cool Re: Islanders Ted Nolan blog

Slightly better. 13-9 at home and 14-13 away....During they week, the don't fill up, but when the building is full, it's a tough place for visitors to play. This coming Thursday, your Leafs come in....Since its Presidents Week, maybe there will be a decent sized crowd. I may go.
