During the Islanders 4-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens yesterday Radek Martinek, who probably has been the Islanders most consistent defenseman this year, broke his leg and let me tell you, it was really tough to watch. His leg got caught in the boards and the rest of his body turned and basically snapped his leg.

The Isles are also playing without Tom Poti and Bruno Gervais who are out with injuries have to delve into the minors for a defenseman for their game against Washington. They are already playing with a minor league defenseman, Allen Rourke. They're hoping Poti can return by Wednesday against Philly.
