Alexi Yashin who is having his best year as an Islander will miss 2-4 weeks with a bruised knee....This stinks- he and Blake were on fire.

Yashin suffered the injury in a collision with Washington's Matt Bradley with barely five minutes left in the Islanders' 4-1 victory over the Capitals Saturday night at the Coliseum. Replays showed Bradley stuck out his right knee as Yashin skated past him. Yashin went down and then struggled to the bench, where he dropped to his knees in pain.

Neither Yashin nor Nolan has reviewed tape of the hit, and no complaint has been filed with the league. "I didn't see it, but it felt like his knee came out from nowhere," said Yashin, who was walking without the aid of crutches yesterday. "

I saw it live and on the replay it did look a little dirty to me but I always think that.
