Linebacker Michael Boley, who signed a five-year, $25 million contract with the New York Giants as a free agent, has undergone hip surgery and almost certainly will miss the start of training camp.
Boley had arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn labrum. The former Atlanta Falcon hurt his hip during the Giants' offseason program.
A full recovery is expected in approximately 8-10 weeks, the team said. Training camp opens in August

I actually did not even notice this guy was signed. Guess i haven't been paying too much attention to the Giants lately . Well anyway, I did a quick search on the guy and this is what I came up with-

• 4 seasons with the Falcons played in 16 games (did not start all of the however) for all 4 of them, a little surprised to see an injury.
• 2007 appears to be his best year, 4 forced fumbles, 93 tackles along with 16 assists, he gets to the ball.
• 2 interceptions in both 2006 and 2007, including 1 in 2008.

Seems like a good signing. Hopefully he can fill the gap that Antonio Pierce may or may not leave. I feel the Giants need a quicker linebacker core, they have power on the line, so speed to stop the run would be good. Hopefully this guy gets back to the field soon.
