Should Giants get Brandon Marshall?

Its no secret Brandon Marshall wants out of Denver. He wants a pay raise and he is unhappy that the Broncos medical staff misdiagnosed his hip problem.
Last season Marshall had 104 receptions, 1265 yards and 6 TDs.
Should the Giants take a chance on Brandon Marshall and why or why not?

Absolutely they're a player away from just being over the top the best. I think it'll probably be Boldin or Edwards. But Marshall would be good too

Re: Should Giants get Brandon Marshall?

We're all tempted to sign a #1 WR to a 1 year deal, just to get through this season. But let's see what this team can do without buying into talented but troubled players like Marshall, T.O., Plax, Ochocinco, Shockey, etc. If the current batch of Giant WRs can stay healthy this season, especially Moss, then I believe they can move the chains and earn that 8th man out of the box. That's a huge "if" that Moss stays healthy, so Smith, Moss, and Manningham can enable Hixon to be the ace return man that he is, while Nicks and Barden have a season to figure out how complicated the NFL is at the WR position. Those guys aren't "everybody look at me" head cases by any stretch, so they're not going to be causing distractions by shooting themselves, or beating up their girl friends on multiple occasions, screaming at their QB during games, holding driveway sit-ups press conferences, not showing for OTAs, refusing to work out with their teams, changing their names to match their jersey numbers, etc. etc. etc. Alas, already we're hearing Moss and Tyree have toyed with hammy injuries again, so it's probably not likely Moss will stay on the field very much. But if he can, and he does what he's capable of doing... with Manningham and Smith... that'll be enough to back the 8th man out, balancing the running game passing game attack... without the locker room chemistry killing baggage. And this season, with this D, it won't take but a couple scores to put most games out of reach.

Re: Should Giants get Brandon Marshall?

So not having jerks on your team is more important than winning a Super Bowl? Because they'd win a Super Bowl with Marshall if he was healthy in the playoff and if he's totallly off the wall bad and everybody hates him they can cut or trade him, it's not that hard with no garuntees

Re: Should Giants get Brandon Marshall?

you said it bears, no guarantees.
As in no guarantees of a Super Bowl with him. You want them to trade one troubled joker for another equally troubled joker? Hey, I know all about messed up chemistry in the locker room. Not worth it.
Of course Tom Coughlin isn't Wade Phillips, but still--
And Marshall's health isn't any guarantee. I mean slipping on those McDonald bags can be a real killer.

The Giants are the kings of winning with troubled locker rooms, the 2008 Super Bowl's locker room was far from perfect, the Giants have found away to deal with this crap before they could probably do it again. Make the trade!
