Eli to become million dollar man

The Super Bowl championship the New York Giants won last year was priceless. The man who led them to it is not, according to the New York Daily News.
The Giants will have to pay a hefty price to keep last year's Super Bowl MVP. Eli Manning's contract is due to expire after next season, and sometime in the next year — probably the next few months — the Giants will take the first steps toward making him the next member of the $100 million quarterback club.
Manning might even end up being the highest-paid member, as several NFL sources said his next deal could be worth a league-high $15 million per season. That would be an average of $1 million more than his brother Peyton is making on the seven-year, $98 million deal he signed with the Indianapolis Colts in 2004.
Based on interviews with several agents and personnel people, Eli Manning appears to be in line for a seven- or eight-year contract worth $110 million-$120 million with $40 million in guarantees.
That would make the 28-year-old the eighth quarterback to top the $100 million barrier, and would put him near the top with Philadelphia's Donovan McNabb (12 years, $115million), Cincinnati's Carson Palmer (nine years, $118.75 million), and former Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick (10 years, $130 million).

I can only think of a few QB that are really worth that much Money, and Eli isn't one of them.

Eli shouldn't sign for long term deal like the other QB, they will release him if his performance drop over the years before the BIG BUCKS kick in.

If Giants pay him that much money than there wouldn't be room in the cap for other good Players, he just ain't worth that much Money.

Just because they won the Superbowl with him behind the helm doesn't mean he's the next big thing .

I agree. He was very good last year in the preseason, but what I saw of him wasnt that impressive. He relied on the running game and Plaxico a lot.
A player gives a good performance, he gets the big bucks and next year his performance drops. Look at Tony Romo. He sure didnt deliver this year. Seems like Dallas safety Roy Williams got the big bucks before his performance started dropping drastically. There are others.

Re: Eli to become million dollar man

If Eli would've at least got the Giants to the Super Bowl, I could justify this. Like how many QB have gotten team to two straight Super Bowls Aikman, Jim Kelly, Bart Starr, Brett Favre, and John Elway that is all I can think of. So if he would've made it two the second Super Bowl but no the the Giants are sitting on their couches watching TV so no he doesn't deserve this, I think he should learn to throw into the wind first.

Re: Eli to become million dollar man

Are those really the highest paid QB's? I think Warner, Rivers, Brees, and Peyton are all probably better then the QB's listed above.

Re: Eli to become million dollar man

Maybe he should call his own play or Audible to something else like his Brother Peyton, then we'll know hes worth the extra money.
